1973-74 Tampa, Florida

Approximately 15 tracts were purchased here during 1973-74 at an average cost of $3,000 per acre, or $.07 psf. The Myers Company purchased approximately 1,500 acres in Tampa.  Prices for locations at interchanges to be build on Interstate 75 were in the range of $.03 to $.07 psf. Today these same sites would be in the $12 to $14 psf. range. A tract initially purchased for $4,000 ($.09 psf.) is now worth in excess of $15 psf.

The map (right) indicates the area pinpointed as the most strategic in that it was at the intersection of I-75, SR 360 (to be 4-laned), SR 60 (already 4-laned) and the new Tampa Crosstown Expressway.

The map (left) and the aerial photograph (below) show all of the properties acquired near the I-75 Freeway interchange with SR 60 and SR 301.

The Site Plan and Conceptual Use Plan Map show The Myers Company's proposed use for the properties it assembled in this area.
